Terms of Service
These are the terms on which Speedy Recovery provides our 24/7 vehicle breakdown and recovery services across Dundee, Angus and Tayside. We have kept them short and readable — no small print traps.
1. Who we are
We are Speedy Recovery, a 24/7 vehicle breakdown and recovery service based in Dundee and covering Dundee, Angus and the wider Tayside area. Speedy Recovery is part of the Emily Logistics Ltd family (Companies House SC667067). You can reach us any time on 07490 644667 or by email at info@thespeedyrecovery.com. When we say "we", "us" or "our" in these terms, we mean Speedy Recovery. "You" means the customer requesting or receiving our services.
2. Our services
We provide roadside assistance and vehicle recovery, including breakdown recovery, accident recovery, jump starts, tyre changes, vehicle transport, van recovery, motorcycle recovery, and auction and dealer collections. Where we can safely get you moving again at the roadside we will, and where we cannot we will recover your vehicle to your home, a garage or another suitable location you choose.
3. Quotes and prices
Before we set off, we agree a fixed quote with you on the call, based on your vehicle, where you are and where the vehicle needs to go. That quote is the price you pay — we do not add an out-of-hours surcharge and there are no hidden extras.
The agreed price is fixed unless the job materially changes from what you told us — for example, if the vehicle is in a very different location, is heavier or larger than described, is in a condition that makes recovery significantly more difficult, or you ask us to take it somewhere else. If that happens, we will explain the change and agree a revised price with you before continuing.
4. Payment
Payment is due for the service we provide at the price agreed on the call. [CONFIRM accepted payment methods — for example, card, bank transfer or cash] and [CONFIRM when payment is due — for example, on completion of the job, or within a set number of days for account customers]. Please ask us at the time of booking if you have any questions about how or when to pay.
5. Your vehicle and authority
By asking us to recover or work on a vehicle, you confirm that you are the owner of that vehicle, or that you are authorised by the owner to arrange the work on their behalf. If you are not the owner, please make sure you have their permission before you book us.
6. Location, access and safety
To help us reach you quickly and safely, you are responsible for giving us accurate information about where you and your vehicle are. Please stay somewhere safe while you wait — if you are on a live carriageway or in a dangerous position, move to a safe place and follow the advice of the emergency services.
Where it is reasonably within your control, please help us have safe access to the vehicle. If we arrive and it is not safe to carry out the recovery — for example, because of traffic, the position of the vehicle, or the ground conditions — we may need to wait, ask for assistance from the relevant authorities, or agree an alternative approach with you before we proceed.
7. Our liability
We take real care with your vehicle and carry out our work to a professional standard. We are responsible to you for loss or damage that we cause by failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for problems that are outside our reasonable control, for pre-existing faults or damage to the vehicle, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. [CONFIRM — this liability section in particular should be reviewed and set by a professional to make sure the limits are fair, clear and legally sound.]
8. Cancellations
If your plans change, please let us know as soon as you can so we can free up the vehicle for someone else. [CONFIRM cancellation terms — for example, whether a charge applies if a driver has already been dispatched or has arrived, and how much notice you would like.]
9. Insurance
We carry insurance appropriate to the recovery work we do. [CONFIRM insurance figures — for example, £Xm Public Liability and £Xm Goods in Transit cover.] We are happy to confirm our cover on request.
10. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services we provide, are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, to keep them clear or to reflect changes in how we work. The version published on this page is the one that applies. The terms that apply to your job are the ones in force when you book us.
