Service 03 — Car Jump Starts
Car Jump Starts in Dundee & Angus
Turned the key and got nothing but a click, or a dashboard that flickers and dies? A flat battery is one of the most common reasons a car won't start — and one of the quickest to fix. We come to you, day or night, right across Dundee, Angus and Tayside.
Batteries go flat for all sorts of everyday reasons. Interior lights or headlights left on overnight will drain a battery quickly. Cold Scottish mornings put extra strain on it, so a battery that was coping in summer can suddenly struggle in winter. Lots of short trips never give it a proper chance to recharge, and an older battery simply holds less charge as it ages. Whatever the cause, a jump start gets your engine turning over again so you can get moving.
When we arrive we connect our equipment to your battery, start the engine, and let it charge for a few minutes before we disconnect. For most cars and light vans you're back on the road within minutes. We'll also do a quick check of your battery's health and tell you straight whether it's likely to get you home and keep going, or whether it's on its way out.
We'll always be honest with you. A jump start is a great fix when the battery has simply run down, but it isn't a cure for everything. If the battery is failing or the alternator isn't charging properly, the car may start but won't hold — and that means the battery or alternator needs replacing. If a jump won't do the job, we won't leave you stuck: we'll advise you and recover your vehicle to home, a garage or wherever suits instead.
