What if I don't have a spare tyre?
No problem — plenty of newer cars come with a repair kit instead of a spare, and space-savers can be missing or already flat. If there's no usable spare to fit, we'll load your vehicle and recover it to a tyre fitter, a garage or your home, whichever suits you best. You won't be left stranded at the roadside.
Is it safe to change a tyre on the hard shoulder?
Changing a wheel on a live carriageway or hard shoulder is genuinely dangerous, and we'd never ask you to do it yourself. Where the location is safe, we'll change your tyre with proper signage and lights. Where it isn't — a fast dual carriageway, a blind bend or the hard shoulder of the A90 or A92 — we'll recover your vehicle to somewhere safe and sort the tyre there. Your safety comes first, every time.
Can you change a tyre on my van?
Yes. We change tyres on cars and vans, including light commercials. Van wheels are heavier and often need a bit more kit, but our drivers are equipped for it. If your van has no usable spare, we'll recover it to a fitter so you're back working as soon as possible.
